Give your children four choices when they become an adult.
Wiping their nose at every turn and becoming a rescuer will not prepare them for life. Teach them early on that they have to have responsibility in the household and that everyone needs to contribute. Don’t allow them to sit around and do things for them and then tell them at 18 that now is the time to get up and walk on their own. You need to lead them and give them the confidence to take those steps. You need to prepare your child how to react to failure, because this is the real world. Once you’ve done this, then they can move forward with the four choices.
