Don’t Let Life Randomly Kick You

Don't let life randomly kick you

While orbiting earth in the International Space Station, Chris Hadfield did an AMA on Reddit.

Below was such a powerful message that I thought it needed to be shared.

“Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and challenges you, and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you’d be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.”

Be a Blade of Grass

Never be taller than a blade of grass.

I was in Amsterdam travelling and was talking to a man who lived in Amsterdam, and we got on the discussion of Americans. He said “Americans always want to share how rich they are or all the things they have,” He said that Americans are too focused on being better than everyone else. He said in Amsterdam “We never want to boast or make someone feel less than, we never want to be taller than a blade of grass.”

Never be taller than a blade of grass.

Time With Children

Chris Rock Quote

“When I hear people talk about juggling or the sacrifices they make for their children, I look at them like they’re crazy, because ‘sacrifice’ infers there was something better to do than being with your children.”
