Someone is waiting and cheering for you to get to the place where you are supposed to be in life. What you’re going through right now is not for you, but for the person coming behind you. Someone is coming behind you that needs to know that you made it, so that they can make it.
Someone is waiting on you to be great
I was in Amsterdam travelling and was talking to a man who lived in Amsterdam, and we got on the discussion of Americans. He said “Americans always want to share how rich they are or all the things they have,” He said that Americans are too focused on being better than everyone else. He said in Amsterdam “We never want to boast or make someone feel less than, we never want to be taller than a blade of grass.”
Never be taller than a blade of grass.
You know as we come to the end of this phase of our lives, we find ourselves trying to remember the good times and trying to forget the bad times, and we find ourselves thinking about the future. We start to worry, thinking “What am I gonna do?”, “Where am I gonna be in ten years?”. But I say to you, “Hey, look at me”. Please, don’t worry so much, because in the end none of us have very long on this earth – life is fleeting. And if you’re ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night, and when a shooting star streaks through the blackness turning night into day, make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular. I know I did.
Some good advice from Bishop TD Jakes challenges us to take a look at our lives, change the story if it needs to be changed, and enjoy the journey of life!
